Cookie Policy
Last updated: March 2026
This policy explains how IvyCV (“we”, “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies on ivycv.com.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site function properly and can provide information about how you use the service.
Cookie categories
1. Necessary cookies (always active)
These cookies are essential for the website to function. You cannot disable them without breaking core features like login and authentication.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
sb-* | Supabase authentication session | Session / 7 days |
ivycv-cookie-consent | Remembers your cookie preferences | Persistent (localStorage) |
ivycv-anon-session | Anonymous session ID for rate limiting — necessary to protect service availability and prevent abuse that would degrade the service for all users | Persistent (localStorage) |
2. Analytics cookies (optional)
We use Google Tag Manager (GTM) to manage analytics tags. GTM itself does not set cookies or collect personal data — it is a tag management system that controls which analytics tools are activated.
Analytics tags managed through GTM (such as Google Analytics) are only activated if you accept analytics cookies via the consent banner. We use Google Consent Mode v2 to ensure no tracking data is collected until you give explicit consent.
How to manage your preferences
When you first visit IvyCV, a consent banner appears at the bottom of the page. You can:
- Accept all — enables both necessary and analytics cookies
- Reject non-essential — only necessary cookies are used
- Manage settings — choose which categories to enable
To change your choice later, clear the ivycv-cookie-consent entry from your browser's localStorage (or clear all site data), and the banner will appear again on your next visit.
Third-party cookies
We do not set third-party advertising cookies. External services we integrate with (Stripe for payments, Supabase for authentication, Google Tag Manager for analytics management) may set their own cookies. Analytics-related cookies from these services are only activated when you consent to analytics cookies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when we add new cookie categories. Material changes will be communicated via the cookie consent banner.
